While most tires are made with gasoline, this process basically dates back to 1844 and it’s about time we reinvent this method.
And that’s just what Yokohama has done with their new eco-friendly dB Super E-spec line of tires. Made using orange oil, from actual oranges, Yokohama has created a tire using 80% non-petroleum based materials, and that’s cause for celebration.
The company said in a statement, “Yokohama Tire Corporation has effectively re-invented the tire.” You had it here first, the wheel has been reinvented, yet again.

It’s almost the 4th of July weekend and you know what that means, fireworks and barbecues.
Well, this year might just be different with the advent of eco-friendly fireworks. Researchers have long been developing new pyrotechnic formulas to replace the environmental pollutant in regular old fireworks with nitrogen-rich materials that would burn cleaner and produce less smoke. And it looks like they’ve done it.
While these greener fireworks have yet to be used during large outdoor displays, they have been used at circuses around the globe as well as rock concerts and other events. So, the only big challenge left for these fireworks is to make them more cost-effective for consumer use, so maybe next year we’ll be seeing a green 4th fireworks stand!

Starbucks is of course not opening many more stores, but the coffee shops the company does open they want to be as environmentally-friendly as possible.
With many of the new store concepts such as the new Paris Disney Village store, Starbucks is introducing reclaimed Champagne racks and recycled mobile phone parts to redesign their established coffee shop format.
Starbucks is even going so far as to hope for LEED certification with all new stores beginning next year. We guess it’s never too late to turn over a new coffee leaf.
Kelsey Grammar’s actress daughter Spencer has one big heart for the environment, and only one rule when it comes to dating, you gotta be green!
In a recent interview, Grammar called herself “crazy” about water conservation and going easy on the earth.
“I grew up in California where there’s always a drought, so you can’t have the faucet on. When anybody comes over and they’re brushing their teeth, I’m like, ‘Turn off the faucet.’ You can’t leave the shower on to let it heat up. That’s unacceptable. I just get really upset. It causes a lot of arguments, actually, especially if I’m dating someone. It’s not a deal breaker, but it definitely becomes a source of anxiety.”
So, just in case you’re interested, Spencer only goes green.
