I know we’re all doing well on trying to reduce our carbon footprint, but it’s hard to fall back to old ways and forget our mission. So, this Monday let’s start back to where we want to be with these Ten New Steps To Reduce Carbon Footprint!
1. Drop the plastic bottle and always have on hand a refillable, safe plastic bottle so you can stay on the go as well as stay hydrated, the eco-friendly way.
2. Carry cloth bags with you to the grocery store and let those stores know that you’re a smart, green consumer.
3. Switch your incandescent light bulbs to energy-saving compact fluorescents, we know it’s an expense up-front, but they last more than double the time.
4. Wash your laundry in cold water. It’s still going to get clean, and if you have to, just do one load in hot water and save money and resources.
5. Recycle, recycle, recycle. We can’t say that enough, and we mean at work too.
6. We know you’re recylcing that junk mail, but how about stopping it at the source and getting off those junk mail lists? It’s a phone call away.
7. Buy at least a pound of local food a week, the farmer’s market is a dream this time of year. Get out there!
8. Start composting, we told you how, so it’s up to you now.
9. Keep your vehicle in tune and even if your county doesn’t mandate, check those emissions!
10. Try one day a week to live car-free, your thighs will thank you for it!
We hope this quick little list has helped you stay on the green track.
