U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced Wednesday that a new, voluntary product seal indicating eco-friendliness would be on the way this spring.
The new seals would not only distinguish eco-friendly food and drinks but also cleaning supplies, skin care products and household goods.
Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan revealed in a statement that family purchases were kept in mind when coming up with the green seal idea, saying, “Today’s consumers are increasingly interested in making educated purchasing choices for their families. This label will make those decisions easier by identifying products as biobased.”
A great piece of news is that the USDA is estimating that around 20,000 bio-based products are currently being manufactured in the U.S. which accounts for over 100,000 jobs.

The wintry weather didn’t stop the Detroit Auto Show from putting on the show this week and we couldn’t be more pleased as the show is the reason we’re all caught up in the new Li-Ion Motors Inizio Electric. I mean, talk about stunning, right?!
One of the only all-electric racer cars in the world, the Li-Ion can hit a top speed of 170 mph and boast a traveling range of 250 miles without another boost.
And guess what the best news is! The Li-Ion is in production currently and the company is taking preorders! Better get on that ASAP, though we might need to stick up a bank or two first….

For many years Prince Charles has fought for the rights of low-caste and impoverished Indians and his new project on the outskirts of either Calcutta or Bangalore is certainly no exception.
After visiting the Mumbai’s Dharavi slum which was the slum featured in the film Slumdog Millionaire, Prince Charles has decided to build an eco-friendly oasis which would be modeled on his existing green development in Poundbury, England. The as of yet unnamed town would feature a dense network of homes as well as palm trees that would collect rainwater overhead for showering and washing as well as providing shade and ventilation for the town.
“When you enter what looks from the outside like an immense mound of plastic and rubbish, you immediately come upon an intricate network of streets with miniature shops, houses and workshops, each one made out of any material that comes to hand,” Charles stated.
“We have a great deal to learn about how complex systems can self-organise to create a harmonious whole.”
