How To Host a Green Indoor Summer Party

indoor-summer-party-green-tips2The Examiner.com had some handydandy tips on how to an earth-friendly indoor summer party this year and I thought I would share.

By deciding to host your summer bash inside versus by the pool you are not only reducing noise and light pollution, you are avoiding possible bad weather and littering guests.

Here are some simple tips on how to host a great green indoor summer party:

  1. Forgo the plastic utensils, paper napkins and plates, instead break out the cloth napkins and the real dishes.  This will add a touch of class to your shindig as well as be less of an impact on the environment.
  2. Serve vegetation dishes this year.  Meat can be bad for the environment since animals eat more and produce more waste, and it’s just better for any guests who have already taken this step or have high cholesterol.
  3. Keep the party in just a handful of rooms which will save on what you have to clean before and after the party as well as energy usage.
  4. Finally, skip the MP3′s this year and let your guests be able to actually talk and listen this time.

Hope these tips have helped you along the green summer path.
