Gardening Eco-Friendly Style
It’s getting warmer and the gardening bug is getting to all of us, but why not try to do a little more green gardening this year?
Here are some helpful tips on how to garden the eco-friendly way.
1. Don’t plant too deeply, just plant the height of the pot and you will not cause the plant or vegetable to go into stress.
2. Plant a canopy tree this year that will provide more shade and less air conditioning this summer.
3. Read the contents of your mulch. Some recycled mulch, such as red mulch, actually contains unsafe levels of arsenic and formaldehyde.
4. Instead of using harsh chemicals to control garden pests, try using soapy water or vegetable oil on infected plants.
