29-year-old actress Jessica Alba has been seeking the advice of her Twitter followers in helping her create an eco-friendly Easter basket for her 2-year-old daughter Honor.

With Jessica preggers again, we’re sure she’s under a lot of pressure to get things organized and not enough time to do it in, so we thought we’d lend a hand.

First off, Jess, consider this a homemade task and look at what you have around the house.  If you already have a basket, voila!  Now to just decorate it!  Instead of green artificial grass, how about heading to your local organic florist and grabbing up some flowers and greenery.

Using craft wire, assemble the basket the night ahead of time with flowers pinned around the handle of the basket and the greenery at the bottom.  Once complete, store the basket in the fridge for safe keeping and now all you have to do is fill it up with homemade cookies and treats!

While it seems like a most  unlikely source, Jersey Shore’s Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has apparently launched an eco-friendly reusable garment bag.

Teaming up with The Green Garmento, The Situation has created a reusable garment bag, dubbed the GTL, named for Sorrentino’s infamous “gym, tan, laundry” mantra.

The reusable bag can be purchased for a mere $12 and even features carbon-balanced shipping if you purchase the bag online.

While it will be several years before NYC’s Mayor Bloomberg’s waterfront makeover is completely revealed, over the course of the next few years, expect to see many of the in-progress projects completed and revealed, such as the East River Waterfront Promenade.

The first section of the highly-anticipated East River Waterfront Promenade will surprisingly be unveiled in just a matter of weeks.  Originally slated to open last December, the promenade will be open to the public this May.

Situated between Maiden Lane and Wall Street, the new esplanade is the first part of the $150 million East River Waterfront redevelopment which will run from the Battery Maritime Building to Pier 35, just north of the Manhattan Bridge. Designed by SHoP Architects, the 2-mile stretch will be transformed into a landscaped walking and biking path, one of the many greenways included in Vision 2020.

How wonderful for NYC, and what a project for a mayor to put his name behind, can’t wait for the completion of this impressive pursuit!

The former Prius owner and Body of Proof star Dana Delany is doing her part to keep it green on and off screen.

The actress, who drove and loved her Prius “until it got totaled,” has a great way to keep it green, electronically.

“I use my iPad now instead of printing out paper, which is great. I love my iPad,” says the star of the ABC drama.

It’s true, with the advent of tablets, it’s getting easier to keep your home and office paperfree, and we all know it’s making it more fun in the process!

Eco-conscious designer Stella McCartney has made headlines recently with the launch of her newest project, a green kids apparel collection.

The Stella McCartney Kids Spring-Summer 2011 collection was launched just Wednesday and is already turning heads.  The collection features 100% organic cotton clothing and shoes made from natural and sustainable cork.

Speaking of her new collection, McCartney reveals, “Building from the basics of the launch collection, I wanted to use prints that would appeal to kids, such as animals, rainbows, and nature..”

“The whole idea was to make clothes that kids will enjoy; and that are not restrictive. To allow girls to be girly and pretty, but still have fun and mix in some tomboy unisex pieces.”

A percentage of the proceeds from the collection will go to McCartney’s family charity, the Meat-Free Monday campaign which aims to persuade people to be vegetarian at least once a week to lessen the environmental effect of the meat industry.

At the 83rd Academy Awards, actor Colin Firth not only stole the show with accolades for his The King’s Speech performance but for his eco-friendly attire.

As always, Firth and his wife Livia donned environment-friendly outfits at the Oscars and this year they did it up recycled style in order to raise awareness for recycled fashion.

Livia, who founded Fairtrade boutique Eco Age, wore an amazing paneled gown recycled from old dresses on the red carpet while Colin made a Tom Ford suit made of ethical materials look better than good!

“It defies what you normally see on the red carpet. It’s really beautiful – it’s pretty but also has a message,” said Livia.

Wow, it looks like Mr. Peanut is packing a brand new bag!  Planter’s Mr. Peanut is now riding in eco-friendly style with an all new green machine.

The nutty company plans to unveil the new Nutmobile in LA tonight at the 8th Annual Global Green Pre Oscar Party.   Mr. Peanut’s new ride features biodiesel technology alongside solar panels, LED interior lighting, recycled parts, reclaimed wood flooring and a wind turbine based on a 2011 Isuzu NPR box truck.

After being “seen” in LA, Mr. Peanut will take his new wheels to New Orleans as his second stop on the “Naturally Remarkable” tour. In New Orleans, Planter’s will be building peanut-shaped recreational spaces on abandoned urban lots.

While actor Colin Firth has been running around collecting awards for his amazing role in 2010′s The Kings Speech, his lovely wife Livia has been busy on a project of her own.

The 41-year-old eco-store owner has challenged herself to wear only environmentally-sustainable styles for the recent premieres and red carpet events she’s been attending with hubby Colin.

The mother-of-two’s outfits have not only been eco-friendly but sartorially dazzling, too. Livia, who has a blog on Vogue.com entitled The Green Carpet Challenge, says: ‘It was an opportunity for me to think… not just about the aesthetic appeal of clothes – obviously that’s important on the red carpet – but their structure, manufacture and lifespan, too.’

Man, Colin certainly got luck with Livia, keep it rockin in the green world!

Man, how time flies!  Somehow it’s yet again time for Corvallis, Oregon’s annual eco-friendly film festival.

Starting this weekend, the 7th annual film festival gets underway with the first installment, 2009 documentary “Fresh.”

The movie casts a spotlight on the efforts of farmers and business people as they try to reinvent the food system with fresh, healthy products.

The Eco-Film fest is spread across four evenings this month — Feb. 11, 19 and 25 are the others — and all shows are free. There is a suggested donation of $5 per individual or $10 per family. Patrons may also bring canned foods for the local food bank.

Being a vegan and living an eco-friendly lifestyle, we’re sure it was hard for Natalie Portman’s fiance Benjamin Millepied to pick out an appropriate engagement ring for the American actress.

Despite the challenge, Millepied rose to the occasion and picked out the most perfect conflict-free engagement ring we’ve seen yet, Portman must be so pleased!

Designed using recycled pieces and “conflict free” diamonds, designer Jamie Wolf worked hard to create an eco-friendly masterpiece for Portman, saying of her fiance, “Ben was exceptionally thoughtful and dedicated and patient to make sure we had everything right. We wanted everything about the ring to speak to things that are important to Natalie.”
