Eco-Friendly Sportswear Made From Coffee

coffee clothes eco-friendlyYep, you read that correctly.  Sportswear isn’t just made from cotton or hemp or bamboo anymore.  Check out these workout pieces made from coffee grounds that are sure to not only get you going but also start up a conversation.

Made from coffee grounds that usually end up in landfills across the nation, the new sportswear line is the brainchild of Jason Chen, the general manager of the Taiwanese Singtex Industrial Company.  Chen had the idea while he was drinking a Starbucks and wondering what else you could do with coffee grounds besides fertilize plants when he stumbled upon the idea of making apparel out of the tossed grounds.

The fabric itself is similar to the viscose-like material made from bamboo and is perfect for layering.  Today, coffee ground clothing, tomorrow who knows?!

Keep it green!
