Eco-friendly Car Incentive, Cash for Clunkers
A bill on the way to the US senate would encourage American citizens to trade in their older cars for more eco-friendly options.
The Cash for Clunkers bill would provide federal vouchers up to $4,500 for people who trade in their old vehicles for more gas efficient models. An added benefit of the bill would be stimulating the struggling auto industry in the process.
The proposed bill comes as a price tag of around $4 bullion and the funds would come from the Energy Department.
