Dot Ecogroup Applies for .eco Domain

The  Al Gore-backed Dot Ecogroup company has recently applied to create the .eco domain, whose purpose would be to distinguish companies whose cause is to support the environment as well as green issues.

The new domain, if approved, would focus on eco-friendly news and information as well as better highlight those companies who pursue the green cause.

Al Gore fully supports the domain, saying, “This is a truly exciting opportunity for the environmental movement and for the Internet as a whole.”
