Away We Go Movie Set Went Green

20081226-away-we-go-greenWe watched the Sam Mendes movie Away We Go last night and were tickled to watch the extra features that included coverage of how they turned the movie set as green as they possibly could.

From using corn-made food utensils to reusable water bottles instead of plastic bottles, the crew of Away We Go put their best eco-friendly foot forward on the film’s set.

Apart from the biodegradable plates and utensils, the crew also used hybrid vehicles, biodiesel fuels, local organic foods and also made use of composting.  We’re hoping that the steps Away We Go used will make other movie sets and crew rethink their carbon footprint.
