$750 Billion Green New Deal Could Revive Economy
The head of the U.N. environment agency, Achim Steiner, stated that a $750 billion Green New Deal could not only revive the world’s current dire economies but also protect the environment by adding a tax on oil.
On Thursday Steiner revealed that spending should focus on five separate environmental areas such as wind power to create jobs as well as improved energy efficiency for buildings.
The Green New Deal was of course inspired by Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal of the 1930s depression area, and if the plan was green-lighted would mean great things in terms of curbing poverty and climate change.
